tab navigation enhancement
-
Hello all, I was thinking about using the mouse’s scroll wheel to navigate between tabs, instead of those small left/right arrows on the right of Notepad++ the tabs’ bar ?
Of course this is only useful when you you have more tabs open than what can fit in the tabs’ bar…
If you don’t get what I’m saying, see how Firefox implemented this feature, just open enough tabs, place the mouse over the tabs’ bar, and scroll with the mouse to see what I’m talking about. -
Click on a tab, press CTRL and use mouse wheel.

It actually works like in FF if npp has the focus. No need to press CTRL.
-
To summarize: using mouse wheel without pressing CTRL scrolls the tab bar without changing the active buffer. Pressing CTRL while using the mouse wheel scrolls the tab bar and switches to each buffer.
Three posts for such an simple answer -> such modays su… :-) -
Fourth post for a further clarification:
Mouse wheel scroll while pointing at tabs does nothing when the Tab Bar preference is set to Multi-line. The is for the “without CTRL” case discussed above.
Maybe this is obvious because there is nothing the user can’t see, to scroll into view, for multiline. :)

Sorry I used an older version… It works fine now !

It’s really an enhancement ! Thanks for the precisions, too.
