Marking/Searching/Replacing issues

All of a sudden the search engine is not seeing “.”, “+”, or “-”. Marking 2.98 results in marking 298. Any ideas?

What does this part of the Find dialog look like for you?:
Seems like you want Normal but you probably have Regular expression set ??
