      Hello,

NP++ is quite a mature project and product. However, in the release announcements I often read about the fixed bugs. And those bugs are not harmless but rather critical, i.e. they can lead to data loss. Also, the messages are oftern about the “regressions” i.e. bugs introduced recently.

That makes me very uncertain about upgrading to a newer NP++ version – even if it introduces a feature I’d like to use. For now, I stick to the version that did not cause problems for me for a long time (7.8.9). I’d like to upgrade but…

What is the procedure of making sure that a new release does not introduce serious bugs?

Thank you for a good and free text editor

        Well…bugs happen.
I think you’re doing the right thing to avoid them.
Use an older version and periodically upgrade to a newer (but not the newest) version that hasn’t been shown to have critical problems.
