Find in files resulted in a frozen Npp

Yesterday I had an incident where npp got stuck because of using the “Search in files” function. This has never happened to me before.
I quit the application, restarted it, performed the same action and … got stuck again. I tried 3 times … same result, last time I didn’t call it immediately after restart, but did some other actions like editing code, started other dialogs like settings, style configurator … but as soon as I used find in files, npp got stuck again.
I suspect the problem occurred because I was using the file search results window on a second monitor.
After reconnecting it, I was able to run the file search again.
The strange thing is that I had performed this action maybe 20 times before without the problem occurring, and I tried to find a pattern to see if I could repeat it, but was unsuccessful.
There must be something specific about what I did before the “Search in Files” action that caused this behavior, but I have not been able to figure out what it might have been to date. So if anyone encounters or has encountered something similar and has an idea or additional information as to what might be causing it, I’d be happy to test it.
