Just updated to Notepad++ v8.2.1 (64-bit) and have found auto complete is not working correctly.

As a quick test in anew tab I entered Hello World on line 1.
On line 3 I entered H and Hello appears in a the drop down.

I previously used to be able to press Return and the selected option would be used. That isn’t working any more.

Am I doing something wrong ?

    Thanks

You didn’t read the release notes (the change.log) when you installed the new version. If you had, you would have seen that a new setting was added.

To make it work the old way you’re used to: Settings > Preferences > Auto-Complete. Turn the checkmark on for ☑ ENTER

Ahh… sorry I will make sure I read them in future.
        Thanks :)

In the grand scheme of things, ‘not reading the release notes’ is a pretty minor sin. You just happened to be the umpteen-millionth person to ask the same thing in the forum since the v8.2.1 release.

I did appreciate that you were willing to entertain the idea that you were “doing something wrong”, instead of just yelling at us for breaking Notepad++. So ++kudos for that. :-)
