Great Tool, Maybe a few More Default Plugins would help
-
Thanks to everyone who has help create this, I’m a new convert from another well know editor. My only request would be to add a few useful Plugin’s as default, like Compare, and I’m sure others would like other plugins. Otherwise, thanks

While I am a user of this particular and extremely helpful plugin, I am against adding default plugins because I want to be in control of what gets installed on my system.
Apart from my personal opinion, this forum discusses/helps with the use of npp but has no influence on how npp is distributed. Your request is more likely to be seen if you open a feature request on github.

I believe the plugins that are currently default are those authored by the author of Notepad++. Attempting to distribute plugins authored by others as part of the distro is IMO just asking for trouble. BTW, I don’t use the Compare plugin; I don’t like it. I’ve integrated an external compare utility into my use of Notepad++. So…right there it would be a large annoyance to me if that plugin was bundled with N++.

Welcome to the Notepad++ community!Perhaps more clarification? Why do you think more plugins should be added? What do you consider “useful”? What are you trying to do and can’t that a plugin may solve? Have a look at this old thread that talks about some “must-have” plugins. The Plugin Admin list is long and there are some 32/64 bit differences so finding what you want probably requires some research. If you have specific questions about plugins or tasks you want that you can’t do - ask here (open a new thread) and I’m sure you’ll get more specific help / answers. Cheers.
