    Hey,

I am using this fabulous tool mainly for investigation of log files. I am working on different logs and using different keywords for a search, but these keywords are always the same. I would like to raise an improvement idea for implementing a second drop down selection in the search window where commonly used keywords can be picked with one click and without copy/paste them from another document. May the keyword list can be edited manually or a checkbox like “add this keyword to my keyword list” next to it would be wonderful.
I know that the Find what: drop down menu holds the last searches, but since I am using a lot of other situation specific keywords, the keywords I am using frequently will get pushed from this list in the end.

Next to the analyze plugin, that doesn´t fit my needs, I haven’t found a plugin that is doing a job like this. But may there is something similar already available?

Regardless if you consider this as a fruitful change or not, many thanks to everyone that maintains Notepad++ It is a wonderful program that make my logs world much more persistent, keep on with that great tool!!

    As and idea:

It’s something that has been requested before.
If you search on the official issue tracker, I’m sure you’ll find references to it, although it is more frequently tied to a request to “remember my frequently used regular expressions”.
Anyway, official tracker and its usage can be discovered by reading HERE.

If you are doing log analyses I have a free tool that you might find very useful. It is called RCFV, the Really Cool Filter Viewer, and you can download it at www.takamomto.com. (As of 6/3 the website is a little screwy due to outside factors but you can still get the latest release of the software there.)
