      I love Notepad++ and usually have a lot of open files (400+). When starting Notepad++ it loads all open files during startup which in my case takes around 30 seconds, before i can start using the application.

      Is there any existing way to enable lazy-loading of documents, or any plans to add support for this in the future?

      The behavior I want is that the application starts instantly, loading only the active document from disk and the filenames for all other documents that are opened within other tabs (in order to set the tab names). When actively changing tab to another document, that new document should be loaded.

      Main goal is to speed up start time when having huge amounts of open files.

      Regards,
      Tobias

        @agerberg ,

        Interesting idea. That feature does not exist currently.
