Notepad++ freezes on network files and even crashes

Hi there, first of all thank you for Notepad++. being able to highlight text in the viewport and viewing it in the scrollbar (with jN Notepad Plugin) makes me pretty dependent. I know, this is a simple use but a powerful one. I like it a lot for AJAX programming.
BUT, I recently have a big issue with him. Notepad++ freezes on network files and even crashes. The problem with network’s files is probably accentuated by an unstable VPN connection, but on VPN I cannot improve anything, unfortunately.
Back to the issue. My opinion about the issue: the “Buffer::checkFileState()” of NP++ probably continue to check the file, this occurs by reactivating the application NP++ from an other application but also while writing codes in it. The setting “MISC. > File Status Auto-Detection” is on “Disable”. It seems to me to have everything setup correctly BUT it continues to check the file, the path or something freezing NP++ for 3-5 seconds each time. This is very annoying and impossible to work with. For the project I switch momentarily to MS VS Code.
Version NP++ v8 32bit (I tried the latest version, but I have the same issue)It is possible to make a workaround?
