Lose Undo Ability Warning
-
In very rare cases I get this message:
Does anyone know why and when this happens? Does the text mean that after saving the undo ability is available again?
BTW, “cannot” seems to me to be more correct than “can not”.

I searched that message in the code here. My guess is that you have unsaved changes, then try to change encoding.
I think it’s trying to tell you that if you have it save-and-change-encoding, the current Undo History will be cleared.
Normally, after a save, you can undo things you did before the save. But normally an encoding change cannot be undone. This message, I believe, tells you that the encoding-change-cannot-be-undone takes precedence in that combined situation.

Hi @PeterJones Thank you very much!
I think you are right it must have something to do with encoding.
If you, as an English language expert, can confirm the typo (“can not” instead of the correct “cannot”), should I open an issue? I suspect there are more cases where “can not” is hidden in messages instead of the correct “cannot”.
