I have been developing software for a year now with .NET 6 and deploying it on Windows and Linux. It all works great. So it would seem that the world has finally gotten around to cross-platform development as a well-developed paradigm. Could Notepad++ be ported to .NET 6, or even 7? Then, the same code could be published to multiple OS’s, and the rest of the world can see how awesome it is!

I recommend looking at this GitHub issue before taking that idea any further.

I’m sure Linux users would love to have Notepad++, myself included.
