      Dear Notepad++ deveopers,

      First of all - it is such a powerful tool. Good job!

      But I have a suggestion:
      Please make the line operations a top level menu. I use them so frequently and always have to locate it in the edit menu. Line operation menu has 23 options and the entire edit menu now has 25 options. Also, the entire line sort actions are something very different than what you would expect from edit options (basically spohisticated variants of the cut/copy/paste family).
      Would be fine between Edit and Search.

      With kind regards,
      Jürgen

        Dear Notepad++ deveopers,

        We are a Community of Notepad++ users, not the developers. This is not where feature requests are officially tracked; we have a FAQ that explains this.

        Personally, as a user, I wouldn’t want any more top-level menus; there are already quite a few.

        And even based on your definition of the edit menu being “sophisticated cut/copy/paste” (which I am not sure I agree with as the best definition of the edit menu – but I will accept it for the sake of this argument), I believe line operations (like remove blank lines, duplicate line, sort line) are at their core cut/copy/paste commands, in the same way that indenting, case conversion, comment/uncomment, eol conversion, and tab/space conversions – some (like the sort) are just more sophisticated than others (like delete blank lines).

          You can make it less burdensome if you customize your editor right-click context menu to add only those Line Operations commands that you actually use.

          User manual LINK with info.
