      Is there a setting to do such? For example, see the word documents on my task bar, filename only; can I do this with notepad++???

        @Harly-Walsh ,

        The Windows Taskbar text is controlled by the window title. In Notepad++, you can use Settings > Preferences > MISC > ☐ Show only filename in title bar to go from C:\Path\To\Filename.txt - Notepad++ to Filename.txt
