      I know, I know, I’m being pedantic but could whoever is responsible for the Npp website please start spelling ‘features’ correctly? Currently it’s being spelled ‘featurs’.

        Just a small heads-up — the word ‘features’ is currently misspelled as ‘featurs’ on the NPP website. Thought I’d point it out in case it was overlooked!

          @Hashir-Maher ,

          You know it’s not “overlooked” because you replied to a post from a month ago that said nearly the same thing.

          Please make sure that a human writes all of your posts, not an AI, or you will be banned.

            @PeterJones I thought AI translations from foreign languages were acceptable here? (Or it could have been another community forum I’m on that has that rule).

              If you, as a human, write text in your native language, and then translate it into English – whether using algorithmic or AI or other means – for posting here, that is perfectly reasonable; as is translating a reply from English into someone else’s language (for example, if you choose to do a post that includes both the English and non-English version of a reply to someone who posted in non-English).

              But what the spammers do is they have generative AI write text – sometimes prompted by just the first post in a thread, sometimes to regurgitate answers that have already been given – that they post (probably via an automated bot process): that is 100% disallowed here. Oftentimes, it’s obvious nonsense, so it’s easy to not approve those posts and ban the user before they continue; and sometimes, it’s so derivative of a previous post that it’s clear it’s just AI regurgitation. But in this case, it was borderline enough that maybe, just maybe, it was a real human regurgitating the previous post instead of using AI to regurgitate it… but it also very easily could have spewed from one of the better modern generative AI models: either way, I was warning that user to not use generative AI, in case they were, and implicitly that their post seemed like AI spewing, whether or not it was.

              To sum up: as long as the content is yours, feel free to use a tool to help you translate that content; but do not let AI do the original authoring of the post.

                FWIW, this Google search gets zero hits other than this forum thread.

                site:notepad-plus-plus.org "featurs"

                I’m guessing that the misspelling, if it ever existed, was corrected a while back.

                  Yes, it was fixed within a few days of me posting 😁👍
