Notepad++ doesn't run as limited user in XP

How do I install NP++ so that a limited user (me) can use it to modify his files? I want to finally learn how to use limited account for internet. Do I install NP++ as admin, then create/switch to limited user, then move startup link to new desktop? I’d like to put links on All Users, or both Admin and Limited USer. The way I tried it, on the Limited User desktop, the NP++ link has no icon. Just a white square.

using XP is far bigger of a concern, what do you think limited use on XP is actually achieving?
