SSO login services (Github/FB/Twitter/G+) stopped temporarily

  • Due to the mass spam attacks from Github, Facebook, Twitter and Google+ SSO login services, the login service of Notepad++ Community is stopped temporarily. We will find a solution as soon as possible. Sorry for the inconvenience.

  • The SSO login services will be kept stopped since there is currently no way to prevent spamming.
However, the manual login is now reactivated, and new users can register.
For people with Github/Facebook/… account, please your username to login (you may change your email address for resetting your password)

If there are any problems, you can contact me via gitter.

  • Do you think this attack is somehow related to your move from SourceForge?

    David

  • No I don’t think. It just seems that some people have too much free time (like the numerous DDoS attacks…)

  • Spams are gone and SSO login services are reactivated.
Thank @milipili for finding the solution!

  • Manual login does not seem to be available to me at the time of writing.
I cannot find any link to register as a new user, and I had to login with Google+.

  • @Christopher-Souter manual login is disabled for all users. The reason for this is to avoid storing passwords in n++ servers, other services do that probably better than we do (and they manage better as well password recovery). Another reason is that they are usually more efficient in blocking spam accounts. Since most of time people have at least one connected account to one of those services, you can browse the discussions without worrying about your authentification.
