    Hi,

I’m new in this community but I’m an npp user from long time. What I think that it really miss is a command line feature for search and replace.

Lets consider that you have to bulk a lot of conditional search and replace, as conditional I mean change the “find” and “replace” string for every target file. Doing this in npp is not convenient.

I know (and I use) other tools for this job, like FART for Windows, but for example FART doesn’t support multiple encoding type, this result in change the enconding type using npp and then replace with FART.

Does someone else in this community feels that a command line for search and replace will be an useful tool?

    Thanks,
    Dario.

No, I would look out for other tools that meet the needs.

Totally agree. N++ is an editing tool, not a file processing utility. One slightly possible solution would be to provide the name of a macro to run immediately as a file is opened.
