Privacy policy of Notepad++

I’m doing an assessment of privacy for the purposes of approving Notepad++ for use in our organization. There is privacy policy in https://notepad-plus-plus.org/privacy/, but it says
This policy is not applicable to any information collected offline or via channels other than this website.
So where to find privacy policy for the actual application?

I’m curious what personal information the app has about you – or rather, what you think it has collected. Because as far as I can tell, it doesn’t collect any information; and it definitely doesn’t “phone home” with any such information. And if an application transmits no such information to a central location, nor even collects such information, what does it need a privacy policy for? Do you expect it to say, “we collect no information about you, so there’s nothing for us to keep private”?

While the app most probably does not collect any valuable data and sends it somewhere, unless I myself will read all the source code (which is possible, but hard and time consuming) I can’t prove it.
I am comfortable enough to use it on my own, but if your boss sends you to check for privacy proof you can’t really give him anything other than “I believe it is safe”.
Like there is the privacy policy of the website, anything that just states “we collect no information about you, so there’s nothing for us to keep private” should be good. I am not knowledgeable in the specifics of what exactly it requires but anything one use against notepad++ in case of infringement should be acceptable. -

This forum is made of the Community of Notepad++ users, so nothing we say can be taken as a legal privacy policy for the app. As far as I know, the Developer has never issued a privacy policy (even something as simple as the one-sentence suggestion quoted here); however, he has added things like the VPAT and ECCN to the https://notepad-plus-plus.org/resources/ page before, when users asked for it, so you could go to the official issues page and request that he make a public privacy policy for the app – either having it on the website, or having it bundled with the app (like the license is).

IMO, it’s a reasonable request.

I upvoted but these days it’s also somewhat absurd, given what the WinOS itself essentially reports home about the behavior of its users and their apps, not to mention all the other possibilities.

I should have said that I think it is a reasonable request simply to ease this problem:
if your boss sends you to check for privacy proof you can’t really give him anything other than “I believe it is safe”
