Hi, new user, long time Notepad++ (npp) enjoyer here.

Recently I have experienced a problem related to npp; often, after having had Windows open for a while and used different programs, is happens that whenever I change focus to npp, the entire screen goes blank. If I ctrl-F4 npp, the screen returns to normal. If I Alt-tab out of npp, the screen returns to normal. Once the situation has happened, it is consistant until I restart Windows. Even if all other apps are closed. Restarting npp changes nothing.

I also use npp in an Oracle VM Virtualbox 7.2.2 and even in a Remote Desktop inside the VM. I don’t recall experiencing problems with these instances.

I always update npp when prompted and it currently says 64-bit x64 8.8.8

      Windows 11 Pro v 25H2, 64Gb RAM, 13th Gen Intel® Core™ i9-13900KF

Graphics card: NVIDIA RTX A2000, HDR off, Hardw. Acc. on.

I am looking for any workarounds or suggestions for things to try to fix or reliably provoke the problem. Please let me know if I can provide any additional info.

      Thanks.

Turns out it was an issue with the GPU driver, which has now been patched.
