      Hi Everyone,

      I’m Harmandeep Singh Kandhari from India, A Health and Wellness Motivator. And I was working on an important file in Notepad++ when the program suddenly crashed before I could save my changes. Is there any way to recover unsaved work using backup or session features? Also, what settings should I enable to prevent losing data in the future?

      Regards,
      Harmandeep Singh Kandhari

        @harmansinghdeepkandhari

        A good place to start is the FAQ section. A post there called Periodic Backup vs AutoSave Plugin will definitely help for the future and may even give you some hints of where any temporary files might be found if you had some settings configured correctly.

        Good luck.
        Terry

          @harmansinghdeepkandhari ,

          You don’t need to quote your name at the beginning of every topic (which makes it harder to understand what your question is about). And you don’t need to start by introducting yourself in every topic; we don’t need your C.V. (especially now that you’ve done it twice), as it has nothing to do with us helping you use Notepad++.

          Regarding this question: What are your current Settings > Preferences > Backup settings?

          If you give us more to work with, we can do a better job of helping you, though, as @Terry-R said, the FAQ does give our best advice.

          If you have specific details related to Notepad++ to add, please include them, so that you can help us to help you, otherwise pointing you to the FAQ is the best we can do…
