Save As Not Working
-
After updating to NPP 6.8.4 I don’t think that save as is working correctly. I’m on Windows 7, SP1, 64 bit.
If I save as, enter a file name and choose Save As Type Normal Text File (*.txt) the file is being saved as “All File Types”. I have to type .txt after the file name to get the file to save as a text file.
I noticed that someone had problems with the spell checking after updating. I have that problem as well.
Thanks

After a complete wipe of Notepad++ when noticing this problem:
Making a new file within Notepad++ will not default to the selected Language’s filetype which typically appears in the “Save as type:” dropbox choice after you choose to Save or Save As…
In my case, there is not a .txt choice, either. I select All (.) filebtype and physically add the .txt extension.

Hello All,
Hi guys, it’s a new behaviour, starting with Notepad v6.8.4 !
To that purpose, see the note in the Don Ho’s post, below :

Enjoy N++ :-)

Same here, roll back to version 6.8.3

Well, I saw the post. I don’t really understand it.
Is the intended behavior the files will be saved without an extension?
I hope not because there are some features of NPP that I’m going to hate losing if I have to change text editors.

I think this is fixed as of v.6.8.8. Thank you!

Check your security backup folder, I had the same problem and I solved it.
