'Find' dialog - default configuration?

When a change is made to the find dialog configuration, that change is remembered when next opened. Is it possible to have the dialog revert to a default configuration each time it is opened, or is there a way to discover the state of configuration programmatically?

I think this is another great feature request regarding the Find feature. And, sadly, no, I don’t believe the state can be discovered programmatically (for instance, using the Pythonscript plugin).
