@Ede123 I can reproduce mouse flickering problem - it appears only on the message dialog. It’s indeed a bug, but between the flickering and crash (and hanging) - I choose flickering (except there’s a safe patch) :)

But. Could you add a switch to the mode of opening the folder.
Sometimes it is easier to open the files through folder. -

I’ve found a bug according to the javascript tab style settings again:
When you set the tabsettings of “javascript” to default and the tabsettings of “javascript.js” to something different, then you get a deadlock the next times you try to start Notepad++ (with full cpu usage).
(Maybe you need a javascript file opened.)To make Notepad++ work again, you need to edit %APPDATA%\Notepad++\langs.xml and set “tabsettings” of both (“javascript” and “javascript.js”) to the same setting to avoid this behavior.

for some reason i was not informed of the 6.8.9 release, but that seems to be no loss since it was withdrawn. i am posting here since there appears to be no place to post under a general topic for this 6.9 release.
i have maintained two (2) 6.8.8 copies of np++. one as a standalone portable install (SA) and another under the portableapps platform (PA). i re-started after some win updates this morn and PA went through its update process. when this version was started, there was a plugin mgr notice of a failing app (it seemed unknown to me and i believe contained something re ‘lexer’) and ‘yes’ was selected to remove. when this version finished starting it was np++ version 6.9. previously, this version had a session similar to the SA from c. a couple months past. now it has no session data at all. since session-named files are scattered around various directories, it is impossible for a user to tell which one is what. however, all of them are newly-dated and only 1KB. also, all the previously-installed plug-ins are gone and only the original defaults are “installed”.
since i had a problem with a np++ update a year or so ago, i started the SA version to protect myself. in this case, that was to no avail!
when starting the SA version i received the same plug-in notification and this time i answered ‘no’. then i got a dialogue box indicating a bunch of plug-in updates and i answered ‘yes’. when this version finished starting all the session data was lost as well. also, even though all the “installed” plug-ins were there, every single setting file had been updated and it appears they were all wiped back to their defaults.
as you can see from the debug data, infra, the 6.8.8 SA did not do an update to 6.9. in fact, clicking on "Update Notepad++’ returns that no update exists!
the common thread for both start-ups is the plug-in mgr. in both versions the session data was lost. in the ‘PA’ update case all plug-in installs were removed. in the simple ‘SA’ start-up only the plug-in settings were obliterated.

A PROBLEM found when i using Folder as Workspace, for example, i have three folders, f:\t, f:\tmp, f:\tmp00；first, i add f:\tmp, everything is OK, then i add f:\tmp00, no response; then i add f:\t, it said, “A sub-folder of the folder you want to open exists. Please remove it from the panel before you add this one.” It seems that the program treats f:\tmp00 as a subfolder of f:\tmp, and f:\tmp is also treated as a subfolder of f:\t.

Just FYI, the .exe installer version of 6.9 doesn’t seem to create the “themes” folder during installation, even when the themes feature is checked in the install wizard. Was able to download the .zip package and copy the “themes” folder from that over to my install location. This was a new install for this system (no prior version had ever been installed).

The open workspace gets kept between launches, despite “Remember current session for next launch” being unchecked.
Additionally, it would be nice if “Open in Notepad++” would be added to the context menu of folders. Having to already have Notepad++ open to use the workspace feature is less convenient.

I just did an update (windows 7 enterprise SP1) and no themes and no theme directory even though I had some selected.

I don’t know if I’m doing something wrong, but I recently ran into a bug of some sort where opening notepad++ just hangs in startup. I’m running the program on my usb, so I’m not sure if that’s where the problem is, but I’ve also installed the program on my desktop and the same issue occurs, just hangs and doesn’t start up. It was working fine earlier in the day, but after I did some work using HTML and CSS, everything just stopped working. Any help would be great. Thanks.

@Ed-Nunez a reply to my earlier post, I unzipped the file to my desktop, then opened up Notepad++ and seemed to work fine. Afterwards, I copied the .bin to my usb and unzipped the files in a separate folder inside the usb, so far everything seems to work fine. Lost all my work, but at least it’s functioning again.

what you explain sounds like you had files open which were on the network and couldn’t be
opened on other computer as this one hasn’t access to this network.Could this be?

Just updated to version 6.9, and the line select behavior appears to be different. If I had Word Wrap on, and go to the beginning of a line, if I would hit “Shift-End” it would select to the end of the line (even if displayed on multiple lines). With the new version, it only selects to the end of the display line.

Hello, i found a graphical bug when editing javascript file (real file, not copy/paste):
Character & dont show in last line, i know the line is incorect in javascript, but if i can see all character, it’s very problematic
