Notepad++ is crashing when I click on Open in the file menu.

I am using Notepad++ v6.9.1 on Windows 10. It started about 2 weeks ago. I can open files OK when I right click on them on the desktop but if I use File -> Open, the program closes. I have tried clearing my recent history list and uninstalling/reinstalling.
Does anyone know how to fix this?
