View of character "Selection" counter is obscured

At the very bottom/right of a window, one can see various bits of info:
Length
Lines
Ln
Col
Sel
and a format indicatorThe sel field, however, is truncated. It displays only 2 characters, so that if a selected string is 100 or more characters, only the first two digits of the sel value are seen. For example, if the string is 234 character long, the sel indicator will show “23.” The “4” is hidden.
How to fix this?

Please provide a screenshot and a version number of notepad++ - it looks great on my v6.9.2 with plenty of digits displaying
