Lost unsaved notes

Hi,
I made some notes in a new tab of notepad++.
This was some time before a long trip.
I’m not sure I saved it in a regular file (can’t find it)
The tab has been closed.
Since notepad reloads all files when started, I’m wondering where it records the unsaved contents “New XXX” ?
Maybe I could recover from there ?
Any help appreciated.
