      Hi!

Please, could you tell me why I often have this >>>>>>>> or <<<<<< or < in my code?
      For example:

      <span class=“gras”>Les astronaute<s ne peu>>vent pas pren<dre de douche,</span>

      Thanks for your help.

Hi CLaudia, thanks for your answer.
No it’s not a part of my syntax! Suddendly, this <<<<, or juste one <, appears in my code.

For example I’m writting at the line 140, and whehn I go down to line 570, i find this >>>>> or <<<<.
      Strange no?

Some source configuration programs add lines like that when they find a merge conflict. The program will leave both versions of the conflicting text in the merge output but they will be clearly marked by lots of >>>>>>>> and <<<<<<<<<. For example, see https://help.github.com/articles/resolving-a-merge-conflict-from-the-command-line

Thanks … but your link tells that this happens when I work with a colleague. But I am working alone on my Notepad++.
And this > or << happens in lines very far from the line I am working.
For exemple, I am writting on line 95 and the problem occurs at line 727.
          Strange no?

            No one knows?
May be it’s come from the graphic tablet, I use it with a stylus.
But it’s really disturbing, when I’m writting my code, often this <s<p<an<=<"<<<<<<<<<c<l<a<ss…come and take me lot of time to fix it!

            Thanks for helping

what AdrianHHH meant, well what I guess what he meant, is, that version control software
like git, mercurial, svn may do such things to mark the changes. So, do you use such tools?
What I find strange is that it may happen in between words?
Could you provide the debug info? (Can be found under ? menu)

              Cheers
              Claudia

Hmm, you only use the standard plugin - strange.
Can you easily reproduce this behavior?
Do you have still a PC/Laptop around, does it happen there as well when editing the same file?
When it happens do the files share similarities?
You see, I’m fishing in muddy water.

                    Cheers

                      Hi Claudia,
Theses <<<<<< or <i<m<g<c<l<…happens when I am writting the code. I save it, Then I go to verify the page, and these things happen.

Or, I save my page, everything is good. And the day after, when I open it, these >>>> happen!

You’re fishing in muddy waters? Good, this is where live the bigger fishes!
                      Thanks for your help.

                        Hi Evrard,

                        when you are saying

Then I go to verify the page

what exactly does this mean? You open the browser and load your file?
You copy the file over to your webserver and then you are using a browser to verify?
If so, do you use ftp to do this?

You’re fishing in muddy waters? Good, this is where live the bigger fishes!

No sharks, except wiresharks, please. ;-)

                        Cheers
                        Claudia
