      Hi,

      I just upgraded from 6.8.2 to 6.9.1 using the zip file. Everything seems fine except that about half the time my .txt files open as JSON files instead of Normal Files. Any suggestion for how I can get my .txt files to open consistently as Normal Files?

        I assume you do have a %APPDATA%\notepad++ directory, correct?
        If so, stop npp, temporarily rename that directory, start npp and directory will be recreated.
        Does problem still exist?
        If not, stop npp, delete new directory and rename old one, start npp.
