Losing line number when switching between windows

I am switching between two text files, a small one, and a very big one (5100 lines, ~1.5 megabytes) using Ctrl+Tab on the last version of Notepad++ with no extra plugins on Windows 10. When I return to the big file, the carriage jumps to a totally new random line. Can someone fix this misbehaviour please?

Do you have word wrap enabled? If so turn that off to see if it makes any difference.
