Horizontal scrolling moves the scrollbar but not the text
-
Hi
Notepad++ 6.9.2
Windows 7 Pro SP1 64bit
Logitech MX Master
Logitech Options 6.30.80If I scroll horizontally using either mouse wheel tilt or thumb scroll while the cursor is over the editor text area then the scrollbar turns grey (reminiscent of Windows NT styling) and moves accordingly, but the text in the editor does not move.
If application focus is given to Notepad++ then the cursor is placed over the menus or outside Notepad++, the text area and scrollbar both scroll properly (without the bar turning grey).
Someone else posted about this too and made a gif to display the behaviour. It was the first post on the second page of the following thread, but Logitech decided to change to a potato-based forum so I don’t think you’ll be able to see it:

Luckily, I had saved the image and have put it up on mediafire so you can see what I mean:

I can confirm that horizontal scrolling works fine in other programs, such as Firefox and Chrome, as the other poster reported.
If I tick “Disable advanced scrolling” then I can perform horizontal scrolling when the cursor is not over the text area, as described in the other forum post. If it is unticked, then I cannot perform this workaround. Also, it intermittenly works normally but I have no idea the conditions to make it work. For example, it started working then I closed and reopened Notepad++ and it was no longer working.
Could this be a Notepad++ issue, a scintilla issue, or would it be related to Windows or the mouse driver (Logitech MX Master)?
Regards
