new user replace -??- by /??/ in date

Basically it is the above, which I presume you do with Regular expression, on every line in 1 or many files. It is the two wild card month values that I an not sure how to code
do I find -(??)-
and replace / \1/? -
I would prefer using \d{2} to be sure getting only a two digit number.
