Failed to save file. Not enough space on disk to save file?

I’m getting this message when trying to edit and save any new file with notepad++. This only happens with Notepad++, not with other editors.
So,
- Create new text file - edit and save with Notepad++: Error
- Create new text file - edit and save with wordpad, notepad, whatever, then edit and save with Notepad++: No error
File location doesn’t matter, root of drive, desktop, network share, etc.
This is a new computer where Notepad++ hasn’t been used before. Version is 7.4 64-bit, OS is Windows 7 64-bit.
