Save all before running external tool
-
Greetings All:
Wondering if it is already possible to have NP++ actually save all files before I run an external program? The reason that I need this is due to a very old compiler that can not run on a 64 bit system, so it has to be launched in DosBox.
Any help would be greatly appreciated.

there are a couple of ways to do it like
press CTRL+SHIFT+S before running the external program
or use npp_exec plugin and do the save all and executing the external prog in one go
or try creating a macro with a saved run menu option.
But all of this depends on what your external prog does and outputs in order to
get some information if run successful or not.Cheers

Unfortunately npp_exec does not work for me in this case.
No biggie…was just wondering if maybe a new feature could be added. -

Could you explain in more detail what this feature should do?
Btw. which npp version do you use? (debug-info under ? menu)Cheers

Would like the feature to be merely a check box or option in preferences to save all before run.
One option would be to just have it as an option when you are saving a run command where you get to name it and set an accelerator for the shortcut.Below is ver info…
