Tabs Disappear Problem

Hi there , I have problem with My Tabs , i used notepad++ for days and i opened a lot of new tabs , but today when i run notepad++ i see that all the tabs are disappeared even my theme config back to default !!!
** so the main question is : **
why tabs disappeared after days ?
another question is :
When i open a new tab and for example i type in that this string “this is a test”
where goes the file that keeps tab content ( i mean the string ) ? -
