Notepad ++ v 7.5.4 not responding on win 7

Notepad ++ v 7.5.4 not responding on win 7 - just after installation with new1- … tab

Checked that the the option run as admin is unchecked.
checked plugins and have no pluggings installed.
Reinstalled - v 7.5.1 , also 7.5.4 - still the same issue .

Weirdly - all working fine till yesterday v 7.5.1.

I’m not sure exactly what you’re saying, it doesn’t respond at all, or you can’t edit new1 file that was created, or what exactly?

You may try a clean install.
Remove everythings in install directory and in “C:\Users\xxxxxxxxx\AppData\Roaming\Notepad++”
Configuration files may be broken.

You also may try the portable verision https://notepad-plus-plus.org/repository/7.x/7.5.4/npp.7.5.4.bin.zip

@saikat-sahoo Yes, a clean install… if you have custom configurations, just be sure to back up those files; or can we presume that goes without saying. ;-)
If you try to save to the Programs/Notepad++ directory, I think they’re read-only… but I don’t think that would be the default… so… try the above sounds right.
