Failure in displaying Chinese characters

I found that when i input chinese character in any file in notepad++ it becomes square boxes.
However, when i open the saved documents with the boxes with other tools (e.g. Notepad), the chinese characters are there. It seems there is some problems when displaying chinese characters with my notepad++…I am using Win7 (32-bit)… I have tried all the method i can find from the internet like font settings… etc.
However, it still doesn’t work for me… :(
Anyone has any ideas on how i can fix this…
