Collapse Folders as Workspace by default

In the “Folders as Workspace” panel at the left side, whenever Notepad++ starts up, the folders are expanded to show the contents at the top level. I work with numerous projects and find myself always having to collapse those top-level folders each time I start up Notepad++. Could this be added as a preference to the application?
