After I removed Notepad++ to stop it from opening my generic text files by default, even though it no longer appears in list of “Programs and Features” it STILL opens them by default. The system will not allow me to delete the Notepad++ directory because it says that it cannot do so because of file(s) open.

How do I make it COMPLETELY gone?
