Save failed: Please check if this file is opened in another program.

New install of Ubuntu 18.04 and Notepad++ v7.5.8 (32-bit).
When I try to save a file to my Synology Nas, I get the error message saying…Save failed: Please check if this file is opened in another program.
I’m pretty sure the file is not open in another program.
Multiple reboots of both the box and the Nas. Still the same problem.
Dual boot into Win 10 on this box and Notepad++ works fine.
Default text editor in Ubuntu works fine.Checked permissions for this user on the Nas and they are good.
One strange thing is if I check permissions of the file or any other
files or folders from Ubuntu, I get…
The permissions of “new 1.txt” could not be determined.
but, the default text editor in Ubuntu works fine.In the Permissions of the Notepad++ program there is a setting to turn on Read/write files on removable storage devices, I turned it on.
