First tab of second window loses formatting, crashes window on changing language
-
I often need to compare two programs side-by-side, so I drag one off into its own window. With the current version (7.6.2 64-bit) and using a language set to Visual FoxPro (*.prg files), the tab I drag off becomes unformatted, all plain black text.
If I open a second document in that window, it is formatted correctly. I verified the issue is with the first tab and not the document by dragging off a different program first and then opening the one I wanted in a second tab.
If I then try to change the Language on the first tab back to Visual FoxPro, the window (whether one tab or multiple tabs) closes with the documents inside it, without warnings and without saving changes. The original window stays open.

It sounds like a problem, surely. But for what you are trying to accomplish, have you considered
-
right clicking a tab and choosing Move to Other View (then you will have 2 editing windows that you can visually compare the contents of 2 files in, right in one instance of Notepad++)
-
using the Compare plugin
