Trouble Opening XML in Internet Explorer

Hi everyone,
I am fairly new to XML and Notepad++ so please bear with me. I saved an XML schema as an XML document and when I open the document all I see is a number. The data I have in my XML file is patient level data of about 300 patients so I’m really unsure why this is happening.
The good news is when I save the document as a text file I see all my data. I would really appreciate some help! Thanks.
