Are you facing this issue with text in a line longer than the available space in your Notepad++ window while the “Word wrap” (i.e. automatic line break) feature is turned on?
If so, go to
(menu) Settings -> Preferences -> (register) Editing -> (group box) Line Wrapand select theDefaultitem. After that only the beginning of the line where you typed the TAB character will be indented. -

you have to upload your pictures somewhere free, like imgur.com and post the markdown link here.
to display it inline, you have to put a
!in front of the markdown link created by imgur.example:

Something is off. I am using 7.6.6 64-bit.
Can someone please post a screen shot of their Notepad++ using this same version so I can see the correct tab setting for a TXT file to achieve this desired outcome?

Yes. The only change necessary on this end was Tab settings going from [Default] to normal.
The missing understanding was both the terminology where this setting was located from previous reply statements and the video of how different combinations come together.
