      I haven´t found the way to make the Find result window visible again

      Interesting dilemma. I had never run across that before – I had never undocked my find results window before. Here’s something that seems to work, after I’ve moved it nearly off the screen

      1. Move it off-screen
      2. ^F => Find dialog opens
      3. Find All In Current Document
        => this will bring the Find result pane to be the “active window”
      4. Alt+SPACEBAR => this should bring up the Find Result window-menu
      5. M => this should start moving that window.
      6. Use a combination of arrow keys and/or mouse until it starts moving into visible view…

      I’ll try to record that sequence:

        You can move any of these windows by right-clicking on the title of this window until it sticks to the desired inside of Notepad ++.

          There was a typo … you need to read the “left mouse button”

            Only if you can find the window. If, as the OP said, “the window disappeared” (which I interpret to mean “moved off-screen, or so close to being off screen that I don’t notice it’s there”), there is no title bar visible to grab.

            In originally replicating the OP’s situation, I was able to drag it so the floating results window had its title bar under my task bar, at which point, even though I could see the title bar thru the semi-transparent taskbar, I couldn’t physically click it… so I then had to come up with a sequence of events that could bring the results window to a place where I could normally manipulate it again.

            @José-Miguel-Velasco ,

            I actually just found a second sequence, which might be easier: if the window has disappeared, exit Notepad++ and reload. The next time you do a Find All in Current Document / Opened Documents, it should open as a visible floating window again: if it’s “off screen” to the bottom, it should have moved up enough that you can see if; if you have multiple monitors, make sure you check all monitors, and look for partial windows hanging off the bottom/left/right sides. If you don’t notice it after a restart, then I recommend my more complicated procedure above.

              @PeterJones I do not see that the author writes that the search window has gone beyond the limits of the desktop

                  If the window has gone beyond the desktop, you can pull it out like this:

                  1. F7
                  2. Alt + space
                  3. G
                  4. Dragging the missing window into view (it stuck to the cursor)

                    The OP said “window disappeared”. The only two ways I know of making a window disappear are (1) to close it – which would have been fixed by just doing a new search or (as you reminded me) F7 to bring up the results window – or (2) to drag it to a location so near the edge of the screen (like the bottom edge or far right) that you can no longer see it or notice it (only a very small number of pixels of the window are left). Since the first seemed easily fixable, and I assumed the OP had

                    If the window has gone beyond the desktop, you can pull it out like this: … F7, Alt+space, G

                    Ah, I had forgotten that Search Results Window menu item / F7 shortcut existed, so I did the equivalent by forcing a new search.

                    It should be noted that in US locale, the keyboard for Moving the window is M (which is what I said above), not G (which is what you used).

                    I think we’ve probably solved the OP’s question, unless they come back and clarify that these sequences don’t work.

                      I hadn’t understood what you meant at first, but I figured it out. Yeah, I guess there is a third way the window could disappear, if the editor pane was dragged so much that all that remained was the drag-bar between them. The OP should try that, if the other sequences don’t help.

                        I have Russian localization of windows, and I click on the Russian “П”

                        And going to the English keyboard layout …“G” …“M” …it stopped working)))

                          What can I say: in an US-EN localization with US-EN keyboard, “G” is not the shortcut, “M” is.

                              Off topic: That keyboard shortcuts depend on the OS locale is rather obvious. But Microsoft, in its great wisdom, even decided to make the order of the items in the dialog Folder Options -> (register) View -> Advanced Settings OS locale dependent as well. :-O

                              In my job, I’m occasionally involved into 3rd level support via remote desktop on customer machines world wide. It’s really funny to try to turn on e.g. display of filename extensions when

                              1. you can not read/understand the items in the list and
                              2. you even can not count to the item in question on your own machine in order to find the correct item on the customer’s machine.
