Hi. So I don’t use N++ for code much just writing, I like the layout. Anyway in Leafpad for Linux, when something is typed in the search bar, you can hit Ctrl + G and it shows the next location of the word in search without having to hit enter or click on the box to highlight it to then hit enter to find the next one, wondering if Notepad ++ has anything like that or you can make a keybind if anyone knows? PS not sure were requests are, but the search function I believe has also been changed to remove the ability for a search to restart at the top once it’s at the bottom of the doc like Microsoft’s notepad which should be change back. But anyway thanks.

Not sure this makes much sense. It seems like you are trading off pressing one key (Enter) for pressing a different one (ctrl+g). One key in each case; what’s the difference?

Well it’s a lot faster, since what I’m doing is taking sentences that have tags above them, like “intro”, into a folder for the intro whatever project I’m introducing, and since switching over to N++ it’s had a big affect how fast I complete the task, because I work with docs that are like 80,000 words long, and if I was to ,

highlight, ctrl, x, ctrl, v, then ctrl g, it’d speed up my time immensely.

i can’t offer ctrl+g, but if you do such searches often, you can give the docked incremental search a shot.
you can summon it with search > incremental search or ctrl+alt+i.

keyboard controls: enter = next, shift+enter = previous.
and if you activate highlight all, you have a nice extra highlighting coloured in blue, which differs from the usual green mouse selection highlighting.

this option’s default setting never changed, so it might be disabled by accident on your system.
please activate wrap around at the search/replace panel, as seen at the next screenshot:
