White box/prompt appearing whenever I type

Whenever I type in notepad++ this white box or prompt or whatever appears underneath my text. It seems to do this for each letter I type, causing the typing to be slow and badly delayed. Did I accidentally hit some command or keybind? How can I disable this so I’m actually able to use notepad? Thanks.

Hard to tell from just a textual description, but maybe it is the Autocomplete box? Try turning Autocomplete off in the Preferences.
