Can i prevent notepad++ deleting empty spaces between closing and opening XML tags when going from Linarize to Pretty Print to Linarize

going from Linarize to Pretty Print to Linarize
When i open my XML file in Notepad++ i have some closing and opening tags with spaces in between which i want to keep.
</verifystatement> <verifystatement id=“41c3ce6d”>
When i change to pretty print then back to Linarize XML the empty spaces are being automatically removed.
</verifystatement><verifystatement id=“41c3ce6d”>
I haven’t been ably to find any solutions to try so far, Does anyone know how to prevent them from being removed? Thanks
