Alternative for Notepad++ on Mac

I am actually working on porting Notepad++ to macOS. If you have any coding experience with Objective-C or Swift, it would be appreciated if you could help me. -

I like Atom, but Notepad++ is more lightweight so I prefer it. If you need any help in developing a version for mac, I offer my knowledge and my time.

I just downloaded and tried CotEditor.
I highly recommend it. It’s just what I’ve been looking for.
Small, lightweight, fast, edit plain text and highlight syntax for multiple languages, highlight occurrences of a symbol, column select just like NPP.
