"Search" / "Find" pane
-
Hello,
I’m sorry to ask a question that probably has been asked many times, but I cannot find it in the forum or on google. Is it possible to always show the Find window as a pane like the Function List or Document Map, or at least have a search box in the toolbar? It’s cumbersome to always have to CTRL+F or CTRL+H.
Thanks in advance

No you can’t
In another hand, there is incremental search feature that may be convenient for you because it’s a docked dialog. However, regexp is not supported (yet ?) -

It’s cumbersome to always have to CTRL+F or CTRL+H.
How is that any more cumbersome than using the mouse to click on the Find window to start a search?
If you had a “pane” you’d still have to have some method to switch to it so that you could type into it.
It’s fine to want a “pane” but let’s not give a poor rationale for it.
A more valid reason is that the Find window is really large and, on single monitor systems, there is no good spot to put it if you run Notepad++ full screen. -

“last post” has no reasonable meaning if new “last posts” have been added since you typed that. :-)
You can link to a specific posting in a topic by right-clicking on the posting time and copying the link address and then pasting that.
So for example, a posting might say “asvc about 2 hours ago”. Right-click on the “about 2 hours ago” part and copy that link.
