popup when cursor is placed within text

I frequently get a popup while editing a file. It is shown when I place the cursor to add or delete text. I can not do this until I manage to get rid of the popup. It is quite annoying. How can I get rid of this popup so that I never see it again.

Auto-completion popup, perhaps?
Try the Settings menu and then select Preferences…. Then seek out Auto-Completion :
