      Hi,

      https://npp-user-manual.org/docs/config-files/

      in the table for the available variable names, $(VARIABLE_NAME)

      EXT_PART should return “html”.

      But here it is returned with a leading dot: “.html”

      Notepad++ 7.9.5 x64

        @oO0XX0Oo

        You are correct.
        But is it a case of the documentation being wrong, or the product functionality being wrong? Hmmm.

          Imho the product functionality is wrong here but ofc there can be different opinions about that.

          In either case, one of the two should be changed :)

            @oO0XX0Oo said in Config files documentation wrong?:

            the product functionality is wrong

            I tend to agree; I didn’t want to say that at first because I wanted to hear other opinions.
            However, I don’t see the product being changed, because it would break existing functionality for those that depend upon it.

            Thus, you should probably open an issue for the manual to be changed to match the product, at https://github.com/notepad-plus-plus/npp-usermanual/issues
